Minchinbury Community Hospital has been providing expert and excellent rehabilitation care to the local community for over 30 years. It is situated on 2 ½ hectares of landscaped gardens and has ample free parking on site.

The Rehabilitation Unit is made up of 26 private beds with shared bathrooms between each room. Our Rehabilitation Program is individually designed to achieve the highest level of physical functioning and independent living.

At Minchinbury Community Hospital we have created a ‘home-away-from-home’ atmosphere. We provide lounge areas and landscaped courtyards for your enjoyment. Our permanent team of caring professionals work to assist you reach your goals and we work in conjunction with our patients and their families to meet any concerns.

Inpatients are seen by our highly trained physiotherapists twice each day (7 days per week) for an individually designed rehabilitation session. Weekly Case Conferencing with our Rehab Physician and Allied Health staff ensures that your rehabilitation progresses smoothly.

Our Multi-Disciplinary Outpatient Rehabilitation – or Day Only Rehabilitation, operates 5 days per week and makes use of both our well-equipped gymnasiums and our beautiful hydrotherapy pool. Day Only Rehabilitation allows you to continue your rehab after you have returned home. You attend rehab an average of three times per week.

To arrange admission to the Inpatient Rehabilitation or Day Only Rehabilitation program, you just need a referral from your doctor or surgeon.

Programs are developed to suit the needs of individual patients, including assessments and treatment to improve muscle strength, joint range, body balance & posture.

Our Major Programs Include

Orthopaedic program following:

  • Total joint replacement and revisions
  • Trauma e.g. fractured fibula, radius
  • Surgery for fractured femurs
  • Other orthopaedic surgery

Multi trauma Musculoskeletal program following:

  • Severe soft tissue injury or disease
  • Complications of advanced joint disease
  • Acute rheumatoid arthritis
  • Complications of degenerative joint disease

Reconditioning programs following:

  • Surgery
  • Extended stay in hospital
  • General decline in condition
